I just got the sweetest email from my dueling pal, Pren from Gryffindor. It was my first contact from other housemates besides those in charge and felt special. I shared with her how I'm feeling a little lost and bewildered 'cause I'm a bit shy here at Hogwarts but am looking forward to our little duel. I didn't share with her that I feel bad 'cause I'll have to kick her butt in the duel. That wouldn't have been polite.She was worried about pet hair. The Masters asked so I answered, but I just don't worry about it since I love animals so much. If I get sneezy, I take an antihistamine!

e to let all my future partners know I'd like something in HP colors if it's in their stash (wool if possible, due to static); otherwise, go with what is owned. I also made my true confession about my head: it measures I really can't wait until the dueling crochet hat pattern is posted so I can get started! I will go to church in the AM, so hopefully I can get it finished before then. ;) Two hours should be plenty of time.
On a different note, I haven't made ONE house meeting or celebration or anything. I'm always caught in another class or detention or doing an odd-job around the castle; maybe some day I'll get to hang with my classmates!

Don't worry about hat size ... when I did the hat duel last term, I found out that my noggin' is also a 22" circumference and every pattern ended up small despite the patterns claim that it would fit :)

you will just have to kick my butt hhmmmm? we will see abot that partner. my crochet hook flies like the wind! my last wooden one caught fire because i crochet sooo fast. :0) good luck. i cant wait to see the pattern. btw i died laughing about the brats picture. why do their feet come off? thats kinda creepy.
I'm kind of relieved you posted your hat size. I'm 22" too, and thought, man, my head is HUGE! But after seeing your post and Ursula's, I'm feeling a little more normal.
This is my first year at Hogwarts, too. We're all a little nervous, I think, but I'm also having lots of fun getting to know my housemates over at Ravenclaw Tower. Try hanging out in the common room in the evening for an hour or so. I've had some lovely chats with people there.

Hahaha! Every woman I've talked to has a 22" head! I think you're normal! My head is 23.5-24"!!! But I KNOW mine is due to freakishly thick hair...anyone and everyone that ever plays with it gasps in awe at the tremendous amount of hair I have. You wouldn't know it from looking at me, though...my hair's tricky like that... :)
Don't feel intimidated by all our chattering! Please, jump right in! :) We're friendly enough! Well, maybe not all the Slytherin's, but hey, you can't win 'em all! ;)
